TURN the DARK is here…

The robins are singing and the baby leaves are bright and happily adorning the big trees in my Toronto neighbourhood.

It’s early, and I’m about to head into High Park for my daily dose of nature.
So happy and excited for tonight!
There are some important and instrumental people that I wanted to thank here.

First of all, the crowdfund supporters, including: Jim and Sue MacKinnon, Gilles Ouellette, Cam Fowler and Delia Faria. Your contributions not only gave me the financial means to finish this dream, but gave me a boost creatively too. Secondly, my musical community, including Anne Janelle, James Hill, John MacLean, Adam Wright, Konrad Pluta and Joel Schwartz. Thank you for your beautiful musical contributions. Jace Lasek – the mixer extraodinaire in Montreal: Thank you for taking on this project and caring for my songs when my heart was too broken to function! Colombe Demers: thank you for being with me through this. To Morgan McConnell, I am so honoured to be your muse, and so utterly content with how you build the visuals that complement my music so well. To my Toronto community: my music students and their parents, my fellow zen practitioners, my neighbours: thank you! To my world-wide ukulele community, my dear friends in the yukon, in japan: thank you! To my wonderful family, right down to bento the cat and my beautiful piano: THANK YOU.

I often feel like this artist path chose me, and I am the (sometimes unwilling) passenger on a roller coaster. But on closer examination, I walk through the gates with my eyes wide open every morning, happily having paid the full admission price. I’ve got cotton candy. My hair is down. I love this ride.

See you tonight.
